Unfortunately they say butterflies are in decline here, most of it down to them building on Green Belt land, their natural habitats gone forever. I couldnt believe how many different species there were when we visited Aston Rowant though, were usually lucky if we see two or 3 different types when we are out and about. I suppose a lot of it has to do with what wildflowers are growing too, they all have their favourites.
Tiger Swallowtails are such beautiful butterflies Shirley as you know, as far as i know though they solely live in parts of the US and Canada. But i have only ever seen them in photographs. Even though ive been to FLA and other parts of the states i cannot ever recall seeing any.
