Editing help

Not sure if this is the right place for this....
Hi all....

I was out trying to get some decent standing pictures of my guys for the website....
Quite chuffed with this one....

....but couldn't seem to get the one of Gabe sorted....I love his stand but the background was so Dark I think you loose his ears...Any ideas of how I could edit to keep the nice stand? (or am I going to have to try again!)

Background is better on this one but position of me and him is wrong I think...

Re: Editing help

In photoshop, you can use the dodge tool to lighten up the areas around his ears/head

Re: Editing help

Think I would mask out the dog and grass and then lighten the background and if it was still 'intruding' perhaps a little blur but not too much of anything. You could also try sharpening the eyes and lightening the highlights in the eye again, just a little. LOL learned about the sharpening on here, really works.

Re: Editing help

Either of these any good ?

Using Microsoft Pictureit, added flash and tweaked mid tones

Using Micrografx, used light studio to lighten behind head to give contrast to ears and lighten face / eyes a touch, [ I can probably tweak the light angle a bit to sharpen his head better and the general colour needs bringing back up but these were just very quick attempts to see if I was on the right lines for you ]

Nikon D40 lens has packed in after only a couple of months, Bennetts so far refuse to replace it
