Canon FD lenses on EOS Cameras

I was just wondering if anybody used Canon FD lenses on their EOS DSLR ?

I know you can pick up an adaptor which enables the use of Canon's FD lenses.

"adapter for using Canon FD manual focus lenses on Canon EOS auto focus mount and DIGITAL Cameras by manual focusing under manual exposure control or by using aperture-priority AE"

I've had a look at some FD lenses and it seems there's some good quality stuff available at low prices.

Without adding loads of stuff that I've found on the net - some seem to think it's worthwhile providing you know what you're doing whilst other things I've read suggest it's a waste of time.

Any thoughts ?

I mean, the EF mount is now twenty years old, so that means the FD lenss are going to be really old. While the quality of some of the FD lenses would have been really good at the time, lens technology has moved on a lot.

So, how will a 30 year old FD lens stand up against modern lens, even one of the cheap EF-S lenses, or a 5-10 year old Canon EF lens?

I can see what you are thinking, you can pick up FD lenses for £5 or £10 a go.

Bottom line is that I don't know, if you can get the adapter and a lens for under £20 then it might be worth having a go, if it is going to cost you closer to £50 then buy a second hand EF lens.
