50d does Glasgow
Got my Canon 50d today and took it for a test drive to Glasgow this evening.
I also took some doggy pics today as well, which I'll post later.

Thanks Phil. Yes, I'm pleased with it, I certainly was not expecting any gain in image quality from my 40d. I really wanted the new hi-res screen and extra mp for cropping bird/wild life shots. I t also has some other interesting features that I have yet to try.
It looks like the 5d MKII is going to be sold out even before it hits the shops
. RGB is the cheapest for the 5d II but they still don't have the 50d in stock yet, so I would guess it will be early next year before it becomes widely available, and hopefully the price will be reduced further. So yes, I still want a 5d MKII, but will wait till next year.

Having done a few crops of late (birds) I can understand your reasons for wanting the higher MP.
Look forward to some more 50d examples as the new 5d is a bit much to shell out for a hobby.
