Glasgow

Thought I'd take a run up to Glasgow this evening for some night shots as I've not done any in a while. Only managed one half decent shot as I got caught in a downpour for about 10mins (glad I wore a hooded jacket)

I used my 6 stop for this to get a much longer exposure for some cloud movement and although the exposure was correct for the meter reading off the bright lights, it was not so for the overall picture and so I had to compensate over a stop in my RAW convertor. There is some noise/artifacts in the shadow areas because of this adjustment.

346 seconds, f18, ISO 200. Canon 5d MKII, Canon 17-40 f4.0 L

Canon 5D MKII
Canon 400mm f5.6 L

Re: Glasgow

Very nice Grant - great composition and the blues and yellowy oranges go well together.

I know I always say this when you post your Glasgow shots but I must get myself down there as I sometimes have meetings at Shieldhall which is very close to this picture.

Re: Glasgow

Very nice Grant. I'm a sucker for reflection photos. Nice color & composition. I've got a refinery all lit up by lightbulbs I've been meaning to shoot. Think you've inspired me to take a drive tomorrow morning really early.
