Hi guys I thought I'd tell you about how I got on in the competition, and thank you again for your wonderful help. I was thrilled to get a runners up prize to a fantastic shot of a vixen, honestly that photo that got first is stunning. Here's my photo in the exhibition.

Wow, doesn't that look great framed - You should be rightly proud, well done for taking a commonly photographed subject in an unusual and interesting situation.

Polo
There is nothing more satisfying than having others admire your photographic work. Opps yes there is, actually being acknowledged that your work is good enough to get recognised in a photographic competition. What an achievement, you must be as happy as a turkey after Christmas. Having been a runner up myself a couple of years ago in an international photo competition I know the thrill you must have gone through when you heard the news. All I can say is the same as the others "Well done". May your future work bring further success

Re: Young Photographer Awards (rspca)

Have to echo the compliments above, I think it's an interesting picture and well caught. The standard is good in the competion and having looked through the gallery of best entries was suprised at the pictures from particularly those from very young members.

Bazza, was interested in your near winning picture...have you ever posted it on Yop, or can you?

Re: Young Photographer Awards (rspca)

There you are BC, simple but elegant I would describe the photo. Came joint 6th place with it, and I was thrilled to bits. Won a mug with the picture on it and a box of AMEN products. Strangely enough it was one of those quick snaps you take, not a pre setup photoshoot type of thing. Its so often the case where those instant moments make the best photos like Polo's.
Yes I should really blend out the top a bit to loose whatever it was in the top left corner, but I couldn't be bothered. it was taken with my previous camera the Nikon D70s (6meg pix) and the 70-300mm lens as far as I remember without looking it up. Phil now owns that lens.

stats 200mm -f5 -1/250sec date 20 Feb 2006 4.25 pm - Nikon D70s
