£200 of Jessops vouchers...

Well I was passing a pretty boring afternoon writing emails about training, assessments, lack of funds and all sorts of things that needed to be attended to when I got a call telling me I had won a local competition. £200 of Jessops vouchers, a certificate... and guess what, the ceremony was last week! They hadn't told me because I think they had mangled my email address! I missed my own award ceremony!

Anyway, dead chuffed, have now won 3 good competitions in around 10 months the biggest prize yet to come in September. However, I will get £200 of Jessops vouchers for this... so, what would you spend them on if you had them? I'd like it to be something that is around £200 rather than £200 towards a bigger item. however, flood me with your ideas and see if they are anything like mine... remember you have a gift of £200 to spend however you like with no guilt complex at Jessops...

Re: £200 of Jessops vouchers...

Oh how exciting! Well done BC! Can we see the pic thta won?
Most of the stuff on my wish list is lenses right now so all way over £200.
Do you want something one special thing or could you buy a load of bits and bobs - spare batteries, camera bag, memory cards .. etc
Or what about a speedlight?

Re: £200 of Jessops vouchers...

For me......

If I hadn't just picked one up - a nice big shoulder bag.

So....

A Lee 'Big Stopper' + holder might be my choice.

Or a nice new compact camera

Probably more CF cards, you can never have too many if I didn't have one I'd get the All in one Sandisk Image Mate too.

Having said that, there is a lens for around 200, that because it's a freebie so to speak, I'd be tempted to buy Nikon 28mm f2.8 AF D

Re: £200 of Jessops vouchers...

I'll upload the pic, must be on my other HDD.

I was thinking of a home studio kit... but need to have a think. I'm going off the full frame idea at the moment. For the same money could have a lot more kit.

I can't have any more lenses, well, one more, already committed to it, but i need to start off-loading not acquiring more.

Moonie I have the 28mm, as you know it's good on DX but really is designed for full frame. Not the sharpest in the Nikon pack, particularly if you have the 24-70, but a lot more compact and manageable and it's only the pixel peepers that probably aren't happy with it. Will be handy when i eventually do get an FX.

I have a Canon Ixus 950 or 951 IS, currently reduced at Jessops to about £100 I believe. Think it is the same one, bargain, highly recommended although it is pretty bad at red eye. I'd like a Canon G11 for 'always carry a camera' moments and candid/street stuff but at 400 quid it's a bit OTT.

Re: £200 of Jessops vouchers...

I'm sticking with the Lee Big Stopper.

All the other things I'd probably have to buy at some point if I needed them - but this is one of those lovely luxury 'nice to have' but 'blooming expensive' items that I'd never buy unless somebody gave me vouchers.
