Re: Christmas Robin

Well done Bazza

You've nailed the focus on that one - beak, head, eye, body - all but the end of the tail is sharp and you've blurred the foreground and background too. Good result for a wee bird.

Re: Christmas Robin

Ms

The photo is exactly as taken, no cropping or editing whatsoever.
I used the Nikon D200 at 1/40sec -f5.3- ISO 100 - Aperture priority- focal length 220 mm with spot metering.

The lens used was my Nikon 70 -300mm VR f4.5-f5.6 lens.

Taken at Dudley Zoo 20-11- 2008

Thank you Phil for your appreciation, I was rather pleased with that photo.

Ms don't forget those settings were ok for those light conditions, on a different day, bit duller, those settings may not have worked.

Re: Christmas Robin

Great DoF and exposure Bazza! Its such a shame the background competes for attention though They never seem to land where you want them!

We have a family of them in the garden next door. One quite often comes into the bakehouse in the morning and stands behind John while he is making the pies! LOL
