Anyone have either?

Are they basically the same or should I be looking for a particular make?

Re: Lens pens / Rocket blowers

I use a rocket blower. In fact, I rarely go out without it in my bag. The distinct advantage a blower has over a pen is that you dont physically need to touch a surface, and they are very much up to the job of general dust, debris removal.

Giotto or Hama are good makes - you can get one for approx £7.99

Re: Lens pens / Rocket blowers

I've got both.

The rocket blower's great. I've got one of the larger sizes and it'll shift even quite stubborn dust from a lens. Should be good as the first stage when cleaning the sensor (not something I've had to attempt as yet).

The lenspen is fantastic for shifting smears and mud/rain splats from multi-coated filters and lenses. Whenever I've tried using even decent quality lens tissues I've ended up with smearing, but the lens pen removes it all without hassle.

It's a good idea to have both the blower and the lens pen. Shift the dust and any loose particles with the blower first, and then if necessary use the pen to deal with the more stubborn stuff.
