Re: RR

They are a breed that has a lovely head to photograph; one or two things that I feel would have made your good effort even better. 1/focus on the eyes not the nose and 2/try to avoid highlights in the background appearing to be poking out of the subject’s head.

Having looked again I would also like a little more background it would set the head off better, IMO of course, composition is in the end up to the person making the image.

Re: RR

Thanks for the advise snapper. I realsied once I took the photo that I should of manually focused on the eyes but I just set it to auto. By the time I had started messing round with the camera she got bored and moved, probably the worlds hardest dog to take a pic of!

Re: RR

Know the problems of taking dog portraits, you go from the biscuit on the head (photographs head) to get attention, to fighting the dogs tongue off the camera lens, getting them where you want for long enough is always a struggle.

Re: RR

Lovely Ridgeback, I agree with Snapper, they have such noble heads, they are very photogenic

Nice shot, I find dog portraits really hard mine don't sit still for long, I guess it just takes loads of practise
