Re: Rochester Cathedral

Me either Dave, not a church man here but i love the architecture.

Maybe taking that shot of the length of the cathedral from a slightly different angle might of worked better.

Re: Rochester Cathedral

I do have one Mark of that shot straight down the middle. I'll have a tinker with that.

Re: Rochester Cathedral

Can I ask a really bad question?

What is the focal point?

Am so taken up by the lines and angle on the walls and roof that the vanishing point fails to deliver.

That make sense??

Re: Rochester Cathedral

Have to say, I think i prefer the pics as shot, I don't think its the perspective that disturbs me. more that i just didn't like it so much....

Re: Rochester Cathedral

The back of the photo as I seen it before I put the camera up to my eye. I was so impressed with what my eyes seen I just wish I could have got that on the camera. This is where I find it difficult with so much in the picture to find a focal point.
Maybe 3 steps to the right might have showed something different. I was zoned in on getting that organ in the pic.

Re: Rochester Cathedral

I know exactly what you mean but the focal point doesn't get the prominence you wanted....ideally it would be dark with the winow providing focal light...for me..( and I da half talk some nonsense as ye know.)

As taken I think the light is a bit too 'samey' throughout.
