I could have a 5D, or a D700 but I guess it's how much do we put into a hobby...priorities would be different if it was job and a form of income.

Having said that boss at work asked me if I wanted a D300 and kit! Can you believe I just refused, couldn't see the point for the little I'd use it in work just taking the odd picture.

24MP must take some managing...I was out the other day and filled a 2 gig card with my 12MP D300. Mostly rubbish but even so it means those big files from that Canon will need some storage space and powerful editing computer...

Re: Guess what i got today!!!

I got a 8gb memory card with it and in total i have about 26gb worth of memory cards LOL i also have an imac and just upgraded the memory on both that and my macbook pro.

I use aperture to process the files and a lot of my shoots i wont be using the full RAW images as there is no point in shooting in the large RAW format. My photography is my hobby and my form of income, it will make weddings much easier now as i know that my camera will be able to cope wit the low light where my 400D would struggle.

The picture above i would have never got wit the 400D as the only light was from a small ceiling light and Mina was sitting slightly in the shadows

Re: Guess what i got today!!!

Thanks well i read the manual in bed last night so i think i know most of he buttons now, the manual isn't that big actually and most of it i already knew from the 400D but they have a few added extras which are amazing

The picture i posted of Mina was taken on ISO12800 (that is not even the top ISO) and it is still a far better image than the 400D at ISO1600.
