Trojan Park Tree

I returned to Trojan Park to check out the walking path in the Summer. If you remember I was there on vacation last Fall to capture the changing tree colors. I find this park immensely peaceful. There were half a dozen fishermen and folks just kicking back on a sunny beautiful day.

I love trees so my subject was a huge tree at the entrance to the park. The pond was in the background and the sun was high in the sky and in front of me. It's one of my favorite setups for a photograph.

I added soft rays from the sun in post processing, being careful not to over do the effect. I cropped the original shot to place the sun in the upper most left corner, wanting more of its rays than the actual sun. The tree is nearly silhouetted but creates the effect I was looking for.

Re: Trojan Park Tree

That's reallyl ovely Bob - I very much like what you've done with the sun, and my only suggestion is that I'd like to see more of the tree's shadow Nevertheless - I don't think it takes away from the picture at all - and I think it's lovely!

Re: Trojan Park Tree

Really like that Bob.

Very subtle - you've certainly succeeded in not wanting to over do the effect.

Looks like a tranquil spot too. I'd be more than happy to whittle away the hours fishing there..

Re: Trojan Park Tree

Thank you all for the compliments. I'd have to say that trees are one of my favorite things in nature to photograph.
