Grocery Store Surprises

I always carry a camera, even when going grocery shopping. As I approached the entrance to my favorite discount store a garden shop worker was carrying out flats of potted flowers for their outside display. It took me 20 minutes to pry myself away from all the varieties I saw there. What a find!

Re: Grocery Store Surprises

The white ones are always the most difficult to expose properly. Overexposed and you lose detail, underexposed and they're a "dirty white".

Re: Grocery Store Surprises

They are lovely and a good way to get shots of nice fresh flowers, I have done trips to the local garden centre for the same reason. Don't know if you have such things in the USA but if you do they are worth a visit.

Re: Grocery Store Surprises

Here there are garden areas everywhere, grocery stores, lumber yards, department stores and dedicated nurseries. People in the Pacific Northwest grow flowers prolifically because the climate and soil will grow anything. That little Regal Geranium potted plant was 6" tall when I bought it a week ago and it's over 12" now.

Re: Grocery Store Surprises

Great colours and details captured Bob, I love the white flower, it's unusual.

Love the gerberas, such pretty pinks, I once took bench pics in a garden centre

I think my neighbours think I am a crazy English lady who takes photos of weird things, I was spotted by two of them taking a shot of a Fire Hydrant I smiled and waved, they quickly went inside after saying hi

You are a crazy English lady Suzi. What's wrong with that?

I know but I was hoping they wouldn't find out yet!

I think I will have to say, when asked what I am doing, "It's okay, I'm British!"
