A few shots from the street...

Just a few from the street... just transferring a few from laptop to backup so thought I'd share a few that were there. A couple were taken in Abu Dhabi, and a couple in London.

1. Waiting to play street cricket

2. Dude on a bike

3. Unique young lady

4. Waiting on the street (should be a smaller and lower resolution than above)

C&C always welcome and appreciated... love 'em or hate 'em

Re: A few shots from the street...

Number 3 makes me gasp! I *LOVE* it... really excellent! Sort of thing I'd have on my wall in a heartbeat! In fact, I think the others are near spot on in every way, but number 3, because I love it so much I can spot little things, I think the woman behind the main subject is a tiny touch distracting (but not much as the main subject is so drawing to the eye!)... oh for a perfect world where people do not get in the way?!

Brilliant work - I'm always in awe of you people who have confidence to take street shots

Re: A few shots from the street...

3, she is aware and puzzled why i am photograping her as I step closer... I spotted her in the crowd of London pavements, and started snapping and she became aware, startled and puzzled...after a couple more shots I just smiled and said 'thank you', her brain hadn't quite figured it all out before I left. I thought she was lovely looking though, face was very really pretty to me...probably the make up. 1 and 2, with hindsight might look better in original colour.

Confidence, confidence, confidence... if you are doing street work. You have to pick your subjects carefully, nobody really wants a thump or even confrontation. I have had some smiles and some difficult moments. You need to know you are within the law, what is public and private land and apply a moral code about who is game and who is not.

Some people may be thinking street photographs are just snaps. For me I walk miles around the city watching life, but only occasionally do i see something that fits what i like. The right faces or the right situation. Sometimes I see a scene but the background is wrong, or they are only kids or whatever. A friend of mine is a master at it...really good shots of people like YOU just caught at the right moment, even in bars and cafes where i wouldn't dare or rather legally I choose not to. watch out!

Re: A few shots from the street...

Brilliant! Thanks for the tips... not that I think I'd ever have the confidence... hell - I even struggle with confidence photographing *anything* in public, even dogs at shows
