There's something I really like about it - and something I can't put my finger on that I'm not sure about. Sorry - not helpful - as ever! 
I think it's that the horizon feels slightly wonky to me...

It's a field that runs downhill from left to right! The trees are vertical in the background. In the extreme right you can see a more distant field going uphill.

I think it works well - the PP adds a lot (thinking it needs it to?). Think it goes a tiny bit too dark in the bottom corners too. But nice work nonetheless

Yeah - I thought that, which is why I was hesitant posting it - I had a feeling it was straight and it was just the line of the hedge.
I still don't know - maybe it's the dead centreness of the trees? or the vignetting? In any case, I do still rather like it - and think it makes for an uneasy image!
