Re: Little Duck

Can't get your exif for the shot Eileen can you tell me what lens, aperture and speed please. I ask because the point of focus is difficult to find and seems very narrow.

Looks better in the original size that is smaller than on the monitor but on my monitor the sharpest area is on the side of the face below and behind the eye

Re: Little Duck

The mate was with it and I was trying to avoid it plus of course it had just come up from being under the water and was trying to catch it, but just never got the right effect!

Re: Little Duck

are you shooting automatic Diane?

try shutter priority and set a faster shutter speed, you may have to crank the ISO up a step too compensate, but I'm sure the results will be far crisper.

Re: Little Duck

Bit of the beak missed out, an essential part of the head, or at least it is for the duck.
May be concentrated too much on focusing on the eye and forgot about the rest.
But hey what do I know? I am far from being an expert.

Re: Little Duck

I do think it's a bit soft, and the beak being chopped spoils for me - but other than that, it would have been a loely photo - you're certainly on the right track!
