Re: Card Reader

If dust is the problem then I think the first thing I'd try is a couple of shots from a can of compressed air (with some you can fit a narrow straw over the nozzle to focus the blast).

Re: Card Reader

Have tried the vac, will try some air and see if that helps. As it is built into my PC I would need to make sure any replacement would also fit or I would be back on here asking what I could do about that

Will have a grovel at the insides of the box and find out the make etc. glad I asked because I had not thought of replacing it unit. Been using a cable but if you could see my cable draw

Re: Card Reader

The other thing is it might be worth re-installing the drivers, just in case they've gone missing or got corrupted

Think it is a case of poor housekeeping rather than a driver problem, took the case off in fit of efficiency the other day and I did wonder if I should clean it out or plant in it

Like the new avatar by the way the old one caught me out every time as I always thought it someone naked from the, ahem, private bits down second glance always reassured me it was a candle but I am too old for this sort of stimulation.

Re: Card Reader

I have recently bought a second card reader for my other computer. Bit of a job finding one as the computers sit on the floor under the office desk. It had to have a longish lead which most don't have nowadays, but i did get one eventually and it is a Kingston card reader, comes with a 3 mtr cord so the reader can sit on the desk. Not over expensive.
