Glen Quaich

Took this on a trip to visit the in laws the other day. It's the hill road over Glen Quaich. Not overly dramatic but a lovely spot.

It is difficult to believe but in 1746 there were no fewer than 1200 people living in the glen. In the early 1800's the crofters left the glen to resettle in Canada. After a three month voyage they colonised the Easthope area of Ontario and named their settlements Amulree and Glenquaich.

It's a great road. You can't tell from the pic but it's really steep in places.

Karen won't let me have a motorbike but it would be great fun.

The picture actually reminded me of a Saltire - might do an edit...

Really nice shot Phil. I think it's one of those images you need to view full screen to appreciate it, can you post a larger version?

Re: Glen Quaich

Beautiful shot, Phil. Great colours and all the lines take you through the image. Is the effect where the sky is darker towards the left done with a filter?
