Sorry but have to disagree about slower shutter speed to blur the water. It makes the whole picture look artificial, using a fast shutter speed to "freeze" the water in motion is more to my taste. But everyone has their own views and what they particularly like.

I don't feel these beautiful photographs look artificial. I just checked the exif data and indeed some leave the shutter open for 63, 10 & 1/3 seconds. You are entitled to your opinion.

I think it is a different perspective on the same scene that's all. It's a sort of hidden world, a bit like macro, high speed photography, infra red, even the longer night time exposures that bring out colours...you are just seeing something that is there but in a different way. I recently bought one of the 10 stop filters but have yet to use it...er maybe on the canal or in the bath as there is/are naff all sea or lakes around my way!

Nice set of pictures Sam, my favourite is #1, different subject for this type of work.
