It's Grim Up North!

This shot was purely down to luck and being in the right place at the right time.
I was sat on the bonnet of my car and had just focused on the scene when this figure appeared over the horizon.
It certainly made me smile at him as he walked past
I toned this to try to compliment the sheer ruggedness that the Yorkshire Pennines convey.
Does it work?

Re: It's Grim Up North!

I like this, quite atmospheric and I like the Sepia and composition (although it might look good with a bit less sky?). I find the border a little distracting tho'.

Re: It's Grim Up North!

That's a good shot, but in my opinion (as always) I think the sky looks a little heavy and too processed. Would prefer a more subtle approach and a little something to cover up and tone down the blown highlights in the centre. Good shot though and easily remedied in PP should you wish to.

Re: It's Grim Up North!

It's funny how you look at your own work once people have commented. And i now have to agree with all of them.
But thats what photography is all about! I don't think there is such a thing as a perfect picture? Everyone has varied tastes and differing views.
And thats what i love about it! So thanks guys... I really appreciate it
