Nathanael Greene Memorial
These are a few of the many shots I took yesterday
These show the Nathanael Greene Memorial.
Nathanael Greene was the commander of the Southern Army, during the American Revolution. A historic battle took place not too far from where I live now, in March, 1781.
The Battle of Guilford County Courthouse,is considered a turning point for the Southern Army campaign against the British. What happened there,as Cornwallis had lost a quarter of his troops, led to Lord Cornwallis being defeated by George Washington several months later in Virginia.
It is slightly ironic that Lord Cornwallis was one of the British Parlimentarians who actually voted against the Stamp Act, and other taxes and laws that actually led to the American Revolution

Well you can also tell from that statue that the rider (General Greene) did not die in combat or from wound sustained in battle.

I love the last one, and the second one is good too - first one looks a litte bit bleached? 
they are lovely though Suzi, and some fascinating history too!
