What a day - Zero pictures

Had a couple of reviews to do up in Inverness today so ever in hope of an early finish I put the camera gear in the car.

Drove the 2.5hrs 130 miles straight up the A9 in fine weather - nice views accross to the mountains which are holding on to the last of the snow - but decided to get work out of the way and take some shots on the way home.

Anyway - a change of plan saw me come home the 'other' way 4hrs 180 miles on 'A' roads down Loch Ness - Fort William - Glen Coe - Rannoch Moor etc.

No sooner had I left Inverness, the sky moved in and the heavens opened. Battering sideways rain, gale force winds, lightning, thunder, hail and cloud level down to my roof box.

The waterfalls were great with all the snow melt and rainy weather but unfortunately I was 'suited and booted' dressed only for roadside shots in normal weather.

Needless to say I didn't even stop and get out never mind take a single shot

It does rain in Oz Azz, ever watched Neighbours it always seems to be wet there. You could, of course, be thinking of living in the desert.

Re: What a day - Zero pictures

Aww that is a shame Phil - it sounds very impressive and beautiful - but equally, unpleasant to be caught out in. We had similar today - didn't let it stop me *trying* to get photos - all of which were appalling! The weather's been really awful for weeks now.

Re: What a day - Zero pictures

Hey Azz
Sure there's lots of fine weather here, we have even just come out of a drought and water restrictions: but, there isnt the rich history and culture of the UK (which, judging by the photos submitted on this board seems to be just around every corner). So beware - the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence (its just had the levels adjusted and a little saturation increase)

Re: What a day - Zero pictures

All I can say is what a lovely part of the country you went thru. I havn't been around those parts for over 40 years but the memory of the views is something one never forgets.
