Serious creative block...

Feeling very down generally at the moment, all sorts of reasons and little niggles, but it's all I can do not to sleep all day. In the past photography has really helped me with my depression, but at the moment it isn't at all - if anything it's making it worse because everything I photograph seems to come out badly. I'm just not happy with anything I've taken in weeks really and I don't know what to do. I say I've got creative block - and it is in a way - but even if someone gives me an idea, or I get a random idea... I can't carry it through - it never comes out right, I don't like the photos - or worse, I simply can't be bothered to take the photos at all :*(

I think in part it's a bit to do with not being able to go anywhere to take photos - if whatever I want to photograph is not in my garden or house, then I can't photograph it. That's really getting to me these days and there's nothing I can do to remedy that these days. Mind that said, even when I can get a rare chance to go out, the weather is dreadful.

Bleh - not sure what the point of this post was, other than for sympathy or any advice on what to do

Uummmm find a job that pays you to do photos? Or take some photo courses...

Dude, I live in a shit weather. There's snow everywhere, it's not even sunny at all.

Snow isn't bad weather, it provides all sorts of photo opportunities - torrential rain does not

Not really so easy to find a job that pays you to take photos when finding any job is impossible due to lack of transport... and the same goes for courses. Believe me, both are the first on my list when I can actually get away from the house...

Can I ask how old are you? Better get a driver license if you can.

Personally, I hate snow. I'm sooo sick of it. It's unacceptable to have snow in this kind of season.

I'm 25 and I do know that it's a good plan to get a driving licence.

ETA - it's actually really not that simple to get a driving licence over here - there's at least a 6 month wait *after* you get the provisional (by law). My partner is currently waiting for his test, in fact, he got a test date through today but we had to cancel it as they'd set it for 2 days before he'd had the licence for 6 months

Well there you go! Now you have something to do.

Already working on it I have plenty to do... the post was actually about not being able to do the photography I want to do... outside of photography I have a great deal to do

Let me add something again. Can you take buses? If so, then that's good. Are there any interesting events (or planned ones) going on in your area? If so, go there then. And if you're shy, then that's the biggest problem you need to fix.

RE. buses - I *could* take them, if there were any. I live in a farmhouse 5 miles from the nearest shop - we have no buses - nearest bus is 5 miles away.
