Confusing issue with Photoshop...

OK - I have a bit of a confusing and very troublesome issue here. I have photoshop 7, and for some reason it no longer allows me to save as anything other than PSD, Tiff and one other file type I forget now. So, saving as Tiff is fine, but I can't save as JPEG - which is a major issue for when I make things smaller for web upload I can't work out why this is - and have racked my brains (didn't take long! ).

I use DNG Converter to convert from NEF to DNG then I use Pixmantec RAWShooter, to do my initial RAW edits - then I open in Photoshop for finishing touches, and saving/resizing etc. Perhaps the RAWShooter is why? But I don't think so as I've used both together for ages with no problems Also, this is happening on 3 computers now so I'm really lost!

Currently my only method is saving resized files as Tiff then converting in Irfanview, but this loses the quality to a horrible degree

Re: Confusing issue with Photoshop...

So....................mmmmm can't be ps7.

Must be something to do with the other progs.

Could you uninstall then re install them?

Then try again..........Im thinking out loud here just thinking what I would try.

That is what I was going to ask,

Sounds like you have set the depth to more than 8bits, if you do most of the tools you normally use will not be available either.
