And diametrically opposite the brolly on the other side of the subject have a big piece of white card or polystyrene insulating sheet to give some soft fill in on the opposite side.

You'd have to increase the exposure as there would be less light tho.

It would be nice to see the results if you try that
Cheers for that Nick - Ill have a bash at that later. We have a treated white artist canvas and style at home, do you think that would work???

Re: I need a little help....

Hi K, yes that would work fine too. It may give a slightly different, warmer colour cast compared to an off the shelf reflector but if you don't have Photoshop you could always adjust your camera settings to suit.

If you intend to do a fair bit of portrait work you can buy slave flashes quite cheaply - they are triggered by your regular camera flash going off. Portaflash do home studio kits which are quite cheap and come with reflectors and stands etc. I have one myself from my earlier days and it served me well for thousands of shots photographing wallpapers (don't ask!).
Kit 1
Kodak DCS ProSLR/n
Nikon 28-200mm AF ED f/35-5.6G (IF)
Nikon 24-85 AF ED f/35-4.5G (IF)
