help needed please

Can anyone out there help me with this one, I really need some expert help. I have CS2 which I am fairly OK with using. My problem is that I shot these 2 snaps with the camera in auto so the white balance etc is not the same in the 2 shots. I have tried colour match in CS2 but that didn't help, tried adjusting the colour balance and selective colour Yes I know I should have shot it in RAW or locked the settings on the camera, but it's too late now cos I didn't, and I can't shoot the scene again. How can I get the 2 snaps to match better before I try to put them together in one picture?

I'm trying to get a painting effect, not a realistic photo, have used a photoshop filter for this, all the layers are saved as a psd so can go back and change it.

I am hoping to get the finished effort printed as a T Shirt and for my xmas cards.

sorry for the long post but I could do with some expert help please

these are the 2 snaps I used

Re: help needed please

Have you tried adjusting with the Levels command in adjustments?

Re: help needed please

thanks Jack Russel

I tried that, the main problem I have is with the snow being different colours on the 2 snaps. Also tried photo filter that didn't help either. I would have hoed there would be some automated way to match the 2 different whites of the snow, I suppose I could try to desaturate the snow.

Re: help needed please

If you desaturate the snow it would melt.

Well only trying to help

Re: help needed please

In the second one I think the colour is different because of the shadow, but the last does look too blue. Can't help you improve them I'm sorry to say but thought my saying how I view them may help a little, one could always go for greyscale which may make them more interesting as there is little colour anyway.

There is a handy control on Lightroom that is very good for WB adjustment, have in the past taken shots of my dogs in the snow and apart from the fact that they look like they have no legs their colour looks terrible if I have the WB correct so I always opt of the B & W
