Portland Japanese Garden

Since I now have a membership card that allows me access to the garden year round I returned today to spend more time capturing more of the subtleties of this marvelous place. Also as a member I get in a 8 a.m. instead of when the general public enters at 10. That's a big advantage to being alone and taking my time without worrying about packs of tourists tripping over me & my tripod. I hope you enjoy these latest efforts. Thanks for looking.

Re: Portland Japanese Garden

Looks like an amazing place Bob.

Is that a giant bonsai tree in the first image - ironic.

Great set - I think I prefer the second of the two waterfall shots - spot on.

Did some PP on that second one AZZ because the entrance was almost black where you couldn't see inside before I started. Than goodness for RAW and CS5.

I was in the mood for experimenting since I brought my good tripod today. I had my 35mm 1.8 lens on the camera and a good Gitzo panning ball head on my Manfrotto tripod so I just went to portrait orientation and panned 3 shots to cover everything interesting and stitched them together in CS5 Photomerge. Came out rather nice I think. I love the reflection in the water.
