Re: Cheapest sb 600 flash ?

Just a tip, the pull out defuser flap is designed to be used with wide angle shots on the SB600. I have one and its good, don't forget to get batteries for it.

Re: Cheapest sb 600 flash ?

Had a quick look at Digital First (presuming where SB600 from?) prices look quite keen. However can't see that they are stating it is official UK stock so presumably the warranty is with them not Nilon UK?. Don't want to spoil the party but maybe you can confirm when you see the paperwork CL? Reason I am asking is they have probably the cheapest price on a D300 body which is tempting.

Incidentally had loads of SB600's and 800's when working away and they were very reliable! Can only remember one not working (er, and I know who dropped it!)...

Re: Cheapest sb 600 flash ?

Wouldn't worry too much as it is reliable kit and only just over a hundred quid so it's not the end of the world if it did die. We had loads of 600's and 800's when I was abroad and none stopped working only the one I dropped!

If it was a camera body or expensive lens it would be another matter hence my question regarding buying the D300.

Just enjoy the product and don't worry about it. I think the site offers 2 year warranty which I know is also something offered by one or two other dealers who do grey imports. Your other alternative is to send it straight back but i know you won't want to do that!
