Re: Monopods good enough substitue for tripods?

Not really claire as a monopod is in 3 sections which collapse into each other.

Re: Monopods good enough substitue for tripods?

That's not true Bazza, as my Manfrotto monopod doubles as a walking/hiking aid.
There are a few out there on the net too.

Re: Monopods good enough substitue for tripods?

No worries Bazza

And yes Claire...that first one is ugly

I have the Manfrotto 680B with a Manfrotto 460MG head mount.

I have to say, it's absolutely solid, yet lightweight at the same time.
If you're looking for a monopod / walking aid, then I highly recommend it.

I think mine cost about £50 quid or so.

Re: Monopods good enough substitue for tripods?

I came across these on ebay while i was looking for a hiking stick http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...S%252BI%252BSS just wondering if anyone knows what they are like? I suffer with my knees being a plumber and was looking for a hiking stick for when i'm out with the dog. I tried A normal antishock hiking pole the other day and it was brilliant just wondering if it's worth me getting one with a monopod built into it? what do you think?

Re: Monopods good enough substitue for tripods?

If you're getting one anyway, it won't harm to get one that doubles as a monopod

But from what most people have said in this thread, they are no real substitute for a proper tripod
