Re: White balance

I have just had a quick look at a downloadable manual for the D60 and it states that the white balance is only adjustable in "P,S,A & M modes". All other modes the white balance is set automatically.

Re: White balance

The light is going to be abysmal so I don't envy you.

Myself I wold put the camera in shutter priority (Tv on my Canons and I would presume "S" on your nikon and set a shutter speed to suit yourself. If you are hoping to stop action then I would set mine at 1/400 sec and the camera takes care of the aperture.

If it cannot open the lens wide enough it will then lengthen the shutter speed until it judges a correct exposure with the lens wide open. So you may end up with an aperture of f2.8 (or the largest aperture of your lens which my be, say, f5.6) and a shutter speed of 1/150 sec.

That's how my Canons work and I would think the Nikon operated similarly.

Good luck

Steve

Re: White balance

Another thing to consider is your ISO setting. If the light is quite murky then I would be tempted to set the ISO to 800. This will result in a little noise but will help you capture the images without blur

Re: White balance

Could one of the many Nikon users on here confirm whether or not shutter priority works on Nikons as I have stated. I have had a look on a couple of Nikon forum and a seed of doubt has been planted in my mind
