Just a Blue Tit

We're getting quite a good mix of birds on the feeders in the garden at the moment because of all the snow but here's a humble little blue tit.

Re: Just a Blue Tit

If ever I saw a competition entry winner Phil, this has to be it. There is nothing about the photograph that I don't like.

The composition, Bokeh, pose - it's perfect in my view. I have photographed these charming little birds extensively and know just how quick you have to be - so a big well done to you. I am well impressed.

I liked the first shot, but definitely think the edit is even better. His eye stands out really nicely

Re: Just a Blue Tit

Cheers Azz and Fogey

Thanks for the comment on the edit too Hali. It was done by somebody else on another screen as my screen at home seems very bright.

Apart from the twig being removed - when I first saw the edit (at home) I thought it was too bright compared to the original but when I checked on my work PC - I thought the edit was an improvement after all.

I keep having that problem too. A lot of people are telling me that my shots are too dark, but when I look at them, they seem OK. But I'm beginning to realise that my work laptop is not the best for trying to edit photos on - I only have to move the screen a fraction for the brighteness to change significantly! Unfortuntely its the only pc I have, so I'll have to cope with it (and just make all my shots lighter than I think they should be!)

(Hadn't noticed the twig being removed until you pointed it out)

Re: Just a Blue Tit

Laptops can be a pain Hali. I've a work one which I sometimes use at home and like you say - they can vary so much depending on your angle of view.

Re: Just a Blue Tit

Lovely shot Phil, the original does look a little dark on this iMac.

Your getting some great shots from that combo, it makes me realise I've been neglecting my gear for a few weeks now.
