Re: Remotes - anyone use them?

Ah , now if I wanted to do stuff like that I would get one that actually plugged into the camera, and then just sit in a bush somewhere

But Jols wants it for doing self portraits etc, mine works fine in front and to the side of my camera, haven't tried it behind because I would just press the button myself.

Re: Remotes - anyone use them?

Ok

I have tried my best to explain the reasons why, Moonstone a corded remote shutter release , if you could get one, are only 3 meters long, not far enough away to get a wildlife shot.

Jols Its your choice obviously but from experience of both types I think you will find I am correct. Why don't Nikon have a wireless remote for your camera as an accessory, because of the reasons I have already given.

Remember a basic camera in a range limits its use no matter how good a camera is, to enable a great degree of flexabilty the camera has, you have to go up the range with the features you require. That is the reason why I exchanged my D70s Nikon for the D200, for example apart from more meg pixel it includes battery life- and histograms, just to name 2.

Azz with the D300 has added live view- higher shots per second and again more meg pixel etc.

You can only go so far with a camera before you have to start thinking of upgrading.
