Nifty 50mm Has Arrived

My goodness what a difference in size from my 18-200mm zoom. It's tiny yet very light sensitive at F/1.4. I had a 52mm UV & circular polarizer filter waiting for it. I still have a metal screw-in lens cap and lens hood on the way. I guess I could go to McDonald's and shoot some test shots at F1.4 to see hte bokeh as well as how sharp the photos turn out. More to come.

Now that's funny. I've put the lens on my D7000, added a Quanyeray 52mm UV and photographed my kitchen. It's 6:15 p.m. now and quite dark outside already. I promise I'll take the new rig to McDonald's and capture Wilbur and his wife, Donna to experiment with my new toy. I'm sure I'll be shooting at F/1.4 just to see the difference in bokeh compared to the Nikkor 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6 VRII.

Re: Nifty 50mm Has Arrived

It's a lovely lens, actually thought it was going to be the newer G version, but nevertheless lovely, and to be honest, even better on DX format as it will be a fast 75mm effectively using the centre glass.
