Quick pic of another, albeit different, lighthouse....
I tried cropping it all ways - i found this to be the best in my opinion.

One thing I do with crops tho, is keep the dimension of a normal photo - that way it looks like a photograph rather than a crop. Simply use the crop tool to highlight all of the image, then hold down shift and get the crop you want. It's just boils down to personal preference really..

That is pretty much original.
All my other crops were tighter, centered etc....
I try to take pics to not crop em if possible
