Monopod and VR/OS

Opinions please? When using a MONOPOD, is it best to switch off the VR/OS?

Re: Monopod and VR/OS

Personally I turn off image stabilisation whenever I use a monopod or tripod, Mick.

Re: Monopod and VR/OS

I think you will find the general consensus is to turn any image stabilisation of when mounting a camera on a tripod or monopod. I always do.

Re: Monopod and VR/OS

I turn it off when I'm using a tripod.

If I'm using a monopod I also turn it off but quite often forget.

Some lenses know when they're mounted solidly and the image stabilisation doesn't kick in even if left switched on.
