Jaguar E-Type

Went to Silverstone at the weekend, it was a very dull day which doesn't make for very punchy pictures (very large pics).

Here's a winning Jag E-type:

Re: Jaguar E-Type

It's an interesting car, but I don't feel it fills the frame enough to be in there with the excitement, there is too much space for my eye to wander off the exciting subject and be distracted by all that red fencing. Great moment to capture the car though, we know it is at full throttle.
Kit 1
Nikon D700
Nikon 28-70 f2.8 ED AF-S (The Beast)
Nikon 80-200mm f2.8
Tamron 24-135 SP
Nikon 300mm f4
Nikon 70-300mm VR
Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 (DX)
Nikon 28-105mm (great walkaround on D700!)
Lensbaby Composer
Nikon 20-35mm f2.8
Nikon SB800
Kit 2
Nikon D300
Nikon 20mm f2.8
Nikon 24mm f2.8
Nikon 28mm f2.8
Nikon 35mm f2
Nikon 50mm f1.4
Nikon 85mm f1.8
Micro-Nikon 60mm f2.8
Micro-Nikon 105mm f2.8

Re: Jaguar E-Type

Great shots of a lovely car Ken - Can see what BC is getting at but I actually like the composition in #1 as the car has room in the frame to 'drive into'.

The black E-Type looks a bit menacing in the 2nd shot behind those little MG's.
Kit 1
Canon 1D Mark 3
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM
Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
Kit 2
1D2 & 40D

Re: Jaguar E-Type

Thanks Phil, Yes the Cream Jag was a difficult one, it was always way out on its own and that point on the track it always lifted its front wheel.

I hate Silverstone for photography, it's all high fencing every where.

Re: Jaguar E-Type

Jag's and MG's yum,yum,yum.

I do like the first shot, and love how the Jag, is homing in on the MG's in the second

Not a type of photography I've tried, should imagine it's extremely hard to get right.

This was a bit tricky, as had to shoot through a small slot with my monopod. I did get a few shots that went straight to the trash can

Re: Jaguar E-Type

2nd look at this, probably a bit unfair re the composition, just too distracting that red fence... just wondering if you can replace the colour with something less distracting and maybe crop away 10% off the top of the frame so we don't see over the fence.
