Half Moon

Pointed the new camera at the sky tonight with the 300L plus x2 extender attached.

I used live view to focus, so this is the best of 5 shots:

OK, this is with a 1.4x & x2 extender stacked which really goes to show how sharp this 300L must be to start with. This time I just hand-held and let the camera do the focusing (so quick and dirty):

Thanks DD, I've just popped out side the front of the house with the camera again. I'll post another shot up shortly.

Re: Half Moon

Admittedly, the moon is one of those special subjects that really looks good as a B&W.

Thanks for looking.

It's is an amazing thing to look at, I've spent many evenings in the past looking through telescopes and being spellbound by it's surface.

Hi Paul, thanks for looking.

You would not believe the palaver I went through at the beginning of this shoot, I had the tripod setup and live-view engaged at x10 trying to manually focus to the highest degree. Then a bit later with both extenders stacked I just went out side let the camera do the work (auto focus and IS turned on) and took a couple of shots hand held and these shots came out better than the tripod ones .
