Birds of Prey

Had a week with my Sister and nieces so took the opportunity to visit the falconry centre and these are the best and unedited shots that I am pleased with!

Re: Birds of Prey

They could all benefit from a bit of sharpening and/or straightening, but on the whole a pleasing set! I especially like number 4 - it's gorgeous!

Re: Birds of Prey

Ahhh - just to straighten the horizons a bit - I use a program caled Picasa to do this - but there are ways of doing it IN Photoshop - much better than Picasa too I'm sure. See the first picture in particular? The post and owl are leaning slightly? It would look a bit more balanced if it was straighter. I really advise Picasa for total newbies - it's free - google it!

These are lovely though, and I do think they are the best we've seen from you yet - really good - and I LOVE number 4!

Re: Birds of Prey

Your edit box is ticked, so I hope you don't mind this - if you do please say Just a quick edit on the first one, so you can see what I mean about straightening. This was done in Picasa, then opened in PS - so I could increase the saturation and contrast and reduce the brightness, and then I ran it through Neat Image noise removal - seemed to work well!

Re: Birds of Prey

Thanks Zoundz, No I don't have a problem with you editing. Can you tell me what is wrong with No3? I thought the child in the background gave it more character or is it too noisy???
Thank you Azz for your comments

Re: Birds of Prey

No. 3 is lovely too - just needs a bit of sharpening and fine tuning. I do personally like the child's face very much I think it adds character and life to the photo.

Re: Birds of Prey

Ok, I have had a go of cropping and sharpening this shot
Think I could even go to adding my name to this one in case some one steals the shot

Re: Birds of Prey

That's an excellent edit! Very well done! One of your very best shots! If you want to go one step further, just a little thing (though I don't think it actually distracts the eye) you could try cloning the fence out!
