bobmielke - i will endeavour to be more accurate in future.
Your photo is wonderful. I might have done a bit more post processing but that's irrelevant. I envy that you were able to get the quality of like captured in your photo. I was there last July/August but was on a touring bus with 35 others. We arrived at that spot at around 11:00 in the morning. I didn't change the time in my D7000 because I was crossing time zones so my Exif data would have also not reflected accurate time. I'm sorry if I offended you.

Re: Monument Valley Utah

I have felt an attraction to that area for 50 years but don't expect to ever get there as these legs are no longer able to walk much. As I was a farmer with cows to milk, crops to plant and harvest, travel was not in the calendar for me. I read all the Navapho stories I can find and look at all the photos I find....hope you will show more of them...Shirley

It would be my pleasure Shirley. I too this vacation to cross my dream of traveling to 5 national parks. It's part of my "Bucket List" of dreams. I had just retired and had enough money to make the trip, one last hoorah. I enjoyed it tremendously. I was surprised I was up to the task physically. Working in a computer chip fab during my last 5 years of work didn't get me much exercise. I was blessed on the trip through Monument Valley Utah to actually be in the cab of a jeep driven by our Navajo tour guide. We talked continuously about his people and their way of life. My life was enriched by his tales and the breathtaking scenery.

Pictured below is the famous location used in the John Wayne movie, "The Searchers". The Navajo rent that horse and cowboy outfit to tourists who want their picture taken at that site.

Below is a Navajo Hogan for women only. The men's Hogan ir larger & rounded. I've included the men's Hogan below. I visited a 93 year Navajo woman in that Hogan by the name of Lupita. Check out this site: http://americanindianoriginals.com/navajo-oldwoman.html That's her home I photographed and visited. She's lived there her entire life. Amazing!

I want to take the time to apologize to Baz for posting all these photos on his thread. I should have started a separate thread to show Shirley Monument Valley.
