Air cleaner or what else ?

I was going to scan a load of slides today until I saw the state they were in, mostly just dusty tbh but using a small cleaning brush doesnt seem to be doing the trick so was wondering what the rest of you use, after all its only the same as you would use on a lens etc.. I was thinking of either a can of compressed air or one of those blower things, sorry cant remember what they call em,look a bit like a little black airship with a nozzle, so what would you use ?

Re: Air cleaner or what else ?

You can get what they used to call "whetting agent", I used it in the old days when developing films, mix it with clean water then rinse your slides in it briefly.

They are Rocket Air Blowers I'm not a fan of wet cleaning personally and would always try the dry route first. I have never used compressed air either as it is normally the sensor I need to clean (lenses are cleaned with a chamois cloth) and compressed air can damage it.

Rocket air blowers, good, thanks couldnt remember what they called em, and you,re right of course wouldnt dream of using compressed air to clean a lens, in fact not too keen on comp air at all recently. Will give a rocket a go I think.
Thanks
