Patch you seem to be managing pretty well, sure you must be able to change the ISO often you can do it from the Function screen - labeled Fn, if you can find a button labeled Fn, turn the camera on and click the Fn button, you may well see the ISO settings they will list something l00, 200, 400, 600 and so on, try 400 to start with this will allow you a faster shutter speed. All my cameras have a Fn button from the tiny pocket point & shoot to the SLR bodies so I am sure yours must have as well.
