Something slightly different, don't know if its my eyesight but the whole picture seems to be clearer ( don't mean sharper ) somehow than over here. Don't know if its because the air is less contaminated or what. I have noticed this with several photos taken by or American photographic friends.

I've lived in New Jersey, Missouri, South Carolina & Mississippi in my years on earth and none of them comes close to the clean air and water here in Oregon.

I've noticed that too Bazza - hence I always wonder if some kind of filter was used (did you use one Bob?).

The atmosphere here is much more polluted I think, although I've seen some lovely 'clear' shots taken in Scotland by out Scottish members (and even some in the more rural welsh areas) too

Might just be that alpine air...

i like the first one, clear crisp , uncluttered.. all very subjective stuff..

The only filter I ever use is a polarizer. It truly is that clear here.

i think the clouds are good but too much so like azz says Less clouds the better for just this image as you already got stunning scenery going on in the picture .

#2 for me seems crisper and I do like the clouds

#1 for me, however the trees in the foreground could do with a bit less contrast they seem to overpower the whole photo, just my opinion of course.
