Re: A couple of shots from our visit to Felbrigg Hall today.

Bob, I know where you are coming from on this. However I have lots of single shots and I wanted to give some idea of the riot of colour in close proximity.

Once again thank you for your positive posts. I'm quite happy to accept constructive criticism as I'm very much a novice and still learning.

Re: A couple of shots from our visit to Felbrigg Hall today.

There are no hard fast rules in photography Richard. I just wanted you to look farther into the composition process. It help for the viewer to be led through a composition instead of locked immediately in the center.

Re: A couple of shots from our visit to Felbrigg Hall today.

Hi Bob I was actually replying to what you said below......................

The first photo is interesting because of the intricacy of the flower globes. If it were me I'd attempt to isolate one blossom up close with good sharpness. As is this has too many blossoms in & out of focus to draw a viewer to the main subject

Re: A couple of shots from our visit to Felbrigg Hall today.

Here's a photo of a large bunch of flowers. I composed the shot so that the main two flowers form a diagonal across the frame. At the same time I provided separation my having the background flowers being more in the shade. I look for these patterns before choosing a cluster of flowers.
