Camera Insurance

I have been with Photoguard for 4 years for my camera insurance but this year I decided to look at other companies and their policies and do a comparison.

Ok Why you may well ask? Simple reason Photoguard were asking £30 more for £6000 of camera gear then my car insurance on a vehicle worth £20000 with full cover, and wife is named driver as well.

Photoguard prices are way too much to my way of thinking.

So I have gone with a company called "aaduki" under written by Lloyds for a third the cost for almost the same cover as Photoguard except for £150 excess. Infact the overseas cover is twice that of Photoguard. Even with the excess I am saving around £70 should I make a claim

So anyone thinking about insurance for photographic equipment maybe this will help

Re: Camera Insurance

Thanks for the heads up Bazza. Not sure if any of these companies operate in Ireland, but insurance is something I *must* look into!
