Re: Red Kite

Good capture Phil. I see loads when I visit my sister in Oxfordshire. Will take appropriate gear next time. I love the way the make minor adjustments of their tail feathers, their flying is superb.

Re: Red Kite

Thanks folks

Apache - I took this at Argaty which is a farm not far from here.

Unlike some other Red Kite places (esp a well known one in Wales) they put a very small amount of food out for the kites so it's merely supplementary.

Re: Red Kite

At Wallingford in Oxon I counted 30 visible in the air and no feeding at all. Gigrin Farm is amazing though Phil, the way they start arriving well before the food is served. We got there 45 mins before feeding time and couldn't get in a shelter, we had to sit in the field. The way there is a defined pecking order is very distinct.
