Re: Our Safari Honeymoon Photos

Great set of animal pictures, and congratulations on the wedding and honeymoon.

On a photographic note, besides the Canon 5d/2, what lenses did you take? Assuming you took a few, did you fly on a charter or scheduled flight, maybe even a light aircraft to the safari when away? I'm just wondering how you got away with carrying a camera kit in hand luggage?
Kit 1
Nikon D700
Nikon 28-70 f2.8 ED AF-S (The Beast)
Nikon 80-200mm f2.8
Tamron 24-135 SP
Nikon 300mm f4
Nikon 70-300mm VR
Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 (DX)
Nikon 28-105mm (great walkaround on D700!)
Lensbaby Composer
Nikon 20-35mm f2.8
Nikon SB800
Kit 2
Nikon D300
Nikon 20mm f2.8
Nikon 24mm f2.8
Nikon 28mm f2.8
Nikon 35mm f2
Nikon 50mm f1.4
Nikon 85mm f1.8
Micro-Nikon 60mm f2.8
Micro-Nikon 105mm f2.8
Tamron 28-75mm f2.8

Our hand luggage was never weighed. I used a peli 1510 case which is BA standard hand luggage.

I took the 5D mkII, Canon 100-400 IS L USM, Canon 70-200 f2.8 IS L USM, 1.4 x extender and 2 x extender, Canon 16-35 f2.8, Canon 24-70 f2.8, lens baby for some fun, and my cokin nd grad filters which i only used in mauritius.

The above photos have only lightly been edited to remove dust spots and to add the logo and borders. Most shots i reduced saturation as they were so red/golden, they seemed unreal.

Our mauritius set can be seen here

These have all been edited as i was being very lazy with my photography for the first week... who can blame me, that was our honeymoon bit

We flew BA from Heathrow - Mauritius (12 hours) - we spent 8 days here (Boeing 767).
Mauritius - Johannesburg via Air Mauritius - 4 hours
Johannesburg - Kruger International via South African Air - 45 minutes
Kruger International - Ulusaba via private car - 3 hours. We spent 5 days in Ulusaba.

On the way home:
Ulusaba Airport - Johannesburg via light aircraft (single prop!) - 1.5 hours
J'burg - Heathrow via BA (747) - 10 hours.
