Playing with HDR

I've been playing with HDR...and not quite mastered it. These pictures had the HDR treatment. I'm not fully convinced, but they are 'different' to look at.

Now, I think it works well on the Rugby game and the town but not sure about the rest, particularly the natural subjects.

As an aside did you use it on the shots in you fathers garden as they looked a bit speckled and I was not sure why.

Yes Snapper - I did. I still havent worked out how to remove/lessen the noise yet. I tend to agree, I think HDR does work well on some subjects (particularly buildings), but not so well on others.

Think the rugby match looks good and reminds one of a newspaper cutting, seems to give the image guts and although the players are women the subject is improved by the treatment.

The overhead shot of a town is terrific and is again given punch by the HDR. Not sure what gives the orange peel look, some do not have it as I have seen it used on shiny cars and bikes and they look rock hard tight and crisp, can't offer any help and I have not even tried it myself. Cheeky I know but I can only comment in most cases by expressing my personal feeling and not offering any advice as I am not qualified to to so.

I like them, I do think this HDR lark is subjective though, it isn't everyones cup of tea, and works better on some images than others, I have decided I personally don't like it on people, but like it on buildings,and cars. I think it works on some landscapes too. Have fun practising

Can I ask were these done with triple shots or with Topaz?

Moonie - they were all taken in Cyprus except for the Waterfalls, which was taken in Wales. The villiage is called Omados, which is half way up the Troodos mountains.

Melody - I'm using topaz - I've tried triple exposing but with little success.
