Re: Im so Mad!!!

God knows where they get their staff from, they put on a uniform and they think they got some kind of 'power'

What I think K objects to the most, is the attitude of the staff there. I have absolutely no problems with people doing their job, but if they aggravate the situation they are clearly doing it wrong.

I detest Asda, it is probably the worst store I have ever had the misfortune of going in!

I think there should be a study on illness and obesity and the connection to which supermarkets people shop in. Actually you can do a simple test yourself...

Go into a Marks and Spencer supermarket and take a look at the people who shop there. Then go into Asda and be gob smacked by the difference!

I know your hung up on M&S at the moment Azz

If you're going to make this comparison - you also need to consider the profile of each customer, and the demographics of the stores locations.

You're right - there are some huge differences between the customers - but it's not just in appearance.

Asda positions itself in the market for a particular type of customer - M&S does the same for a different type of customer.

It's tricky - as you can't completely generalise - and sometimes local issues (Such as Asda's being the only supermarket for 10 miles - so you are forced to shop there out of lack of choice) cause a sway in the profile, but I'd imagine that Asda's is aimed at working class families with low to middle incomes, whereas M&S is aimed more at the modern professional single person, and mature grannies with a high disposable income (which of those do you fall into Azz? I'd say it was the latter )

As you know - I live in a particularly poor area of East London - and my local supermarket is - Asda's! In the time I've been here I've shopped once for a distress purchase - otherwise I travel out of my area to either Waitrose or Sainsburys. M&S are ok - but they can't yet deliver the demands of a full weekly shop.

I wonder where the rest of yophotographer members shop?

My printers broke iv got an epson r800 and its being a cow!

Azz, it was definatly her attitude that riled me, not the reasons for it. IMO it doesnt mater waht kind of market you are catering for, there is no need for them to act like that! I certainly cant see it coming down to class LOL.
