Re: Climate change and your camera

well... my first experience of this sort was the other day in a tropical plant house - the new lens steamed up (the outside, the casing itself rather than the lens) and was almost sweating which worried me... but it was ok. then i switched lenses (in a different room) but the tamron (i wanted the extra reach) steamed up terribly... took ages for it to clear how do we combat this? can we even?

Re: Climate change and your camera

Now that is strange Zounds, the lens I had that grew mould inside was a Tamron, wonder why they are so prone to condensation. Had to throw the damaged one away and have never bought another of that make as I worry it may happen again. Have to say the other lens I had at the time recovered alright and the tape recorder also recovered but the belt was slipping and did nothing for the recording, you try getting lip sync with that.

Also remember when Alan was filming at a speedway meeting and the camera was quite warm when there was a sudden downpour and the inside of his lens steamed up on the inside like the inside of a car windscreen, it got so bad that he had to stop filming, however even that lens recovered and is still in use.
